Get ready to run your large scale with LocoFi! Do you need more than 1.5A to run your loco yet don't want the hassle to connect the various components?
 
Now you can with LocoFi Plug'n'Play modification package for LocoFi™ 3. Not only are the "direction" and "pwm" outputs exposed (like in the Large Scale Modification Package 1) but they are connected to the MD13S H-bridge as well that supports upto 13A of motor current. Apart from that, the default smaller speaker is replaced with a larger one that speaks volumes. All that is left to do is to power the module and connect the lights and motor.

Everything will be wired up for you except the locomotive wiring. You will find three groups of wires namely LIGHTS, MOTOR and POWER that need to be soldered to the corresponding wiring in the locomotive. Make sure to connect power to the correct polarities. Positive (+) has been marked for you.
 
If track powered (AC or DC), connect the track power to the included bridge rectifier with electrolytic capacitor instead. The track power will connect to the metal terminals of the bridge rectifier marked AC. The output of this filter circuit should in turn connect to the power of the module and H-bridge (MD13S) matching the (+). Please note that the addition of the bridge rectifier will bump up the minimum working voltage by 1V - 2V.
 
Those wishing to power with a battery do not need the bridge rectifier electrolytic capacitor combination. It will not be shipped to you. The power is directly connected from the battery to the module and H-bridge with matching polarities.
 
Orange and grey wires coming from the H-bridge (MD13S) will power the motor while the white and yellow wires of the LIGHTS will connect to the positive of the LEDs (no resistors needed). Blue is common and connects to the negative of the LEDs.
 
Existing light outputs may be amplified and used to drive brighter higher wattage LEDs. A sample schematic is provided at LocoFi™ for Large Scales (DC and AC power).
 
You will also find a connector coming out of the module that needs to be plugged into the H-bridge (MD13S).
